A Project For the Future

As part of the Admin Team for Season One of Conquer the Climb, it was an amazing experience seeing how the players and mentors interacted. CTC is the bridge for up-and-coming players to experience competing against similarly skilled players before they challenge the best players in the country!

A great kick-start

The project is the best I’ve seen and been a part of for newcomers into a competitive scene.
Getting to experience the competitive environment and having a mentor help a team into the scene is something I wish I had when I started.
From a mentor’s POV, it was a blast teaching a pre-existing team more about the game and helping them get closer to goals they didn’t think possible.

Good improvement

It was clear to see that the teams that engaged with the mentors made meaningful progress and improvement.

An environment that cares about fostering players & coaches

I was a mentor for the first season of Conquer The Climb, and separately employed as a macro coach for the eventual winners of the tournament. From my experience, Conquer the Climb was a highly intensive but productive experience that rewards the participants that willingly engage with the system.

The tournament runs effectively like a high level cup tournament but with the time allocated for pre-tournament mentorship and healthy gaps for analysis and improvement over the course of the fixtures.

The teams that really engaged with their coaching showed tremendous growth throughout the tournament. Additionally, the coaches – many of whom I had myself coached previously – who embodied the process and the spirit of the tournament really grew into their roles, found confidence in their wealth of knowledge, and made a positive impact on the players around them.

The management of the tournament was also excellent. Although a compact team, the Conquer the Climb leadership are both knowledgeable and fair, running a top tier tournament and engaging with disputes in a healthy and open way. It’s a team that cares about the process as much as the set in stone rules, and I have full confidence that the next tournaments will continue to set their participants up for future success.

You can just say that it is like very well thought out and put together there you go and then add a neato [optional]

A tournament focused on the upliftment and improvement of our community is exactly what I think we have been missing! I think it will be a fun way to learn for both participants and mentors, and I am excited to see its success.
